There is an update to this post with the 308 Michelin stars for 2020.There they are! The Michelin Guide starred restaurants for 2018. In total, for the first time, there are more than 300 Michelin-starred restaurants in Germany, which ranks second in the world behind France.

Attention: The new Guide Michelin 2019 with all starred restaurants for the current year will be published on 26.02. 2019. All info here.

The awards are distributed as follows:

  • 250 one-star restaurants (29 new restaurants)
  • 39 two-star restaurants (4 new restaurants)
  • 11 three-star restaurants (1 new restaurant)

The most exciting changes: The Schwarzenstein restaurant with chef Nils Henkel receives two Michelin stars. A great award for the new start of the exceptional chef. And you can also hear the champagne corks popping from Munich: The Atelier im Bayrischen Hof joins the ranks of three-star companies. This is proof of the extremely successful collaboration between Jan Hartwig and Christian Hümbs, who has been in charge of the patisserie at the Atelier since this year. Also new to the circle of two-star restaurants are the gourmet restaurant Le Cerf in the Wald- & Schlosshotel Friedrichsruhe, Keilings Restaurant in Bad Bentheim and the Cortier in Wangels.

From a local patriotic point of view, I am pleased with the first star for Jens Rittmeyer’s No.4 in Buxtehude and the star for the team around Laurin Kux at the Hamburg Jellyfish.

The Brenners Park Restaurant in Baden-Baden, the Tiger Gourmet Restaurant in Frankfurt and the Villa Rothschild Kempinski each had to surrender both stars.
