Laut Urteil der OAD Community, welche sich aus vielreisenden Gästen und erfahrenen Gourmets zusammensetzt, behauptet sich bei den Modernisten zum zweiten Mal in Folge Küchenchef Rasmus Munk mit seiner progressiven Küche im futuristischen Konzeptrestaurant „Alchemist“ in Kopenhagen auf Platz eins. Auf Platz zwei rangiert der Schwede Björn Frantzéns mit seinem gleichnamigen Restaurant „Frantzén“ in Stockholm, gefolgt von Victor Arguinzoniz vom „Asador Etxebarri“ im baskischen Axpe auf Platz drei. Das Schweizer „Schloss Schauenstein“ von Andreas Caminada in Fürstenau hält sich wie im Vorjahr auf dem vierten Platz in Europa, während das nur acht Plätze bietende Restaurant „Baga“ von Pedro Sanchez im spanischen Jaén auf Platz fünf vorgerückt ist.
Zu den europaweit Bestplatzierten im deutschsprachigen Raum gehören 2022 auch das „Victor’s Fine Dining“ von Christian Bau im saarländischen Perl-Nennig auf Rang 14 sowie das Berliner „Ernst“ von Dylan Watson-Brawn auf Rang 19. Bester österreichischer Vertreter ist Max Natmessnig vom „Chef’s Table at Rote Wand“ in Lech auf Platz 34.
