The World’s 50 Best Restaurants list provides an annual snapshot of the opinions and experiences of 1,080 experts in the international restaurant industry. The list is not free of criticism, but it is a gastronomic reference point and reflects relevant trends from all corners of the world.
The latest version of the 2024 World’s 50 Best Restaurants list was unveiled on Wednesday, June 5, in a glitzy and glamorous live awards ceremony at the Wynn, Las Vegas. The event brought together many of the world’s best chefs, restaurateurs and hospitality industry icons.
The 22nd edition of the annual ranking includes restaurants from 26 countries, five continents and eight exciting new entries and re-entries. First place in 2024 goes to the Disfrutar restaurant from Barcelona (here is my report from a visit in 2015). From a German perspective, Tim Rau can be congratulated for his Berlin restaurant for an excellent 30th place(here is my report), the Nobelhart & Schmutzig(report from April 2024 ) from Berlin is in 43rd place.
In the extended list of places 51-100 there are four more German restaurants: Coda from Berlin in 62nd place, Ernst from Berlin in 75th place(report), Restaurant Jan from Munich in 84th place followed by Tantris in 88th place.
