Ferran Adrià announces BulliPedia

The BulliPedia is to become the heart of the elBulli Foundation. The goal is to create a culinary wiki led by Ferran Adrià with the collaboration of Grant Achatz, Heston Blumenthal and Joan Roca.

In the coming months, however, the focus will initially be on developing and maintaining the content; completion is not planned before the end of 2014. The look and feel of the new site can already be seen in this preview video:

Two main pillars will support the transfer of knowledge: Creativity Today and the Creative Archive. The first part will focus on daily results of the elBulli team and information on contemporary and traditional gastronomy, the archive will work on the principle of a culinary onthology, linking products with recipes or techniques. Due to the structure as a wiki, the information can be constantly updated, supplemented and refined, also with the involvement of the users. Open interfaces and APIs should also allow external applications to access parts of the content.

In addition to Adrià, the University of Barcelona and Telefónica are involved as project partners.

Access to the site will not be free, but cheaper than a book, Adrià revealed.
