Here I want to live, cook and especially shop. Preferably daily. The Mercat de l’Olivar in Mallorca’s capital is a true dream from a culinary perspective. So much freshness, choice and, above all, product quality – one can only become envious. Or simply decide to drop by more often in the future…
The market hall in the heart of Palma de Mallorca, opened in 1951, is divided into two large areas. In the first you will find mainly vegetables, cheese and meat products, especially of course the Jamón Serrano and Jamón Ibérico or Jamón de pata negra in all variations (and price ranges).
The special highlight, however, is the fish hall. This surpasses even the Mercat de la Boqueria in Barcelona, both in terms of size and selection. Common to both, however, are the numerous small bars at the end of the hall. There you can enjoy many of the fresh products directly and observe the great hustle and bustle next to a cool glass of wine. Delightful.
